Out-of-Circulation and Soiled Sterling Banknotes
We would like to inform all clients of an important update regarding the handling of Sterling banknotes.
Due to increasing costs and logistical challenges associated with processing, transporting, and repatriating out-of-circulation and soiled Sterling banknotes. The Currency Centre Limited will no longer accept such notes with immediate effect.
What This Means
- Out-of-circulation notes: Older series of Sterling banknotes that are no longer considered legal tender or are being phased out.
- Soiled notes: Banknotes that are damaged, excessively worn, defaced, or otherwise unfit for standard circulation.
These types of notes will no longer be eligible for exchange, deposit, or processing through our services.
Action Required
We kindly request that all clients:
- Review any Sterling banknotes in their possession.
- Separate out any out-of-circulation or damaged notes.
- Inform relevant staff, partners, or customers of this update.
Thank You for Your Cooperation
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we implement this change. For any further questions or clarification, please do not hesitate to contact our support team.
