Monthly limit & Minimum Credit Balance

Did you know?

All Visa Credit card holders are required to maintain a Minimum Credit Balance in the Debiting Account, equivalent of the monthly spending limit allocated to the card, i.e. if you have been allocated a spending limit of GBP 1,000, you will be required to maintain a Minimum Credit Balance in your bank account of GBP 1,000 at all times.

All Visa Credit Card holders will have a set monthly spending limit, which resets on the 1st day of each calendar month.

When there is more than one card issued against the one Debiting Account to settle Visa transactions, the aggregate of the monthly spending limits allocated will need to be maintained at all times. 

The Minimum Credit Balance must be maintained for a period of at least seven (calendar) days after our receipt of all the card(s) linked to your Debiting Account(s) should you no longer require the use of your Visa Card(s).

Further information

If you should decide to close all your accounts held with us, please note this may be delayed in the event of any pending transactions not yet settled against
the Debiting Account. In addition, you must inform the Bank of any ‘regular’ or standing payments drawn against the cancelled card(s). It is the cardholder's responsibility to terminate these contract(s) with merchants linked to a ‘pending for closure’ card.
