Trusted Novus Bank is seeking an experienced and motivated Transaction Administrator to join our Transaction Management team on a 12-month fixed-term contract to provide maternity cover.

This is an excellent opportunity for a banking operations professional with experience in Payments, Securities Settlements and/or Card Operations who enjoys working within a regulated environment where accuracy, control and customer service are paramount.

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the Bank's transaction processing activities, ensuring transactions are completed accurately, efficiently and in accordance with regulatory requirements, internal procedures and service standards.

Candidates with knowledge of SWIFT messaging, payment processing, securities settlement processes, Corporate Actions and card operations will be particularly well suited to this role.

The role also includes participation in the Bank's out-of-hours and weekend Card Helpdesk rota, supporting card-related customer enquiries, fraud prevention activities and operational incidents outside normal business hours.

Key Accountabilities

The successful candidate will:

  • Process payments, securities settlements and card transactions accurately and within agreed deadlines.
  • Ensure all activities are completed in line with Bank procedures, regulatory requirements and service level agreements.
  • Investigate and resolve routine transaction queries, discrepancies and exceptions, escalating issues where appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate records, audit trails and supporting documentation.
  • Liaise with internal departments, counterparties, service providers and other stakeholders to facilitate the successful completion of transactions.
  • Contribute to maintaining a strong risk and control environment through adherence to policies and procedures.
  • Support operational efficiency improvements and assist with testing activities relating to system and process changes.
  • Maintain awareness of industry standards, regulatory developments and best practice.
  • Provide support across the wider Transaction Management function during peak periods and business-critical activities.
  • Participate in the Bank's out-of-hours and weekend Card Helpdesk rota, responding to customer enquiries, card blocking requests, fraud-related matters and operational incidents.

Skills and Experience

We are looking for candidates who demonstrate:

  • Previous banking operations experience in one or more of the following areas:
    • Payments Operations
    • Securities Settlements
    • Card Processing / Card Operations
  • Sound understanding of operational controls and risk management within a banking environment.
  • Knowledge of relevant banking regulations and industry requirements.
  • Strong organisational and workload management skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and banking systems.
  • Ability to participate in an out-of-hours and weekend Card Helpdesk rota.
