Visa Secure
Enhanced 3-Domain Secure protocol during online shopping.
What is Visa Secure
Visa Secure (formerly known as ‘Verified by Visa’) is designed to be an additional layer of security when performing online purchases with your card. This protocol is developed with the utmost security features whilst remaining easy and user friendly for the cardholder. During your online purchase, you may be required to enter a One-Time-Passcode (OTP) to authenticate the transaction. This OTP will be sent via SMS to the mobile number registered for you.
To avoid any delays in completing your online transaction, it is essential that we keep your contact details up to date to allow the delivery of the OTP. If whilst shopping online with a participating merchant offering Visa Secure protocol, your contact details are not set or up to date, your OTP will not be delivered, and you will not be able to complete the transaction.

One Time Passcodes- How do they work?
Your OTP is a one-time use code that acts as the key to your card account, helping to stop anyone but you, authorising transactions on your card during online purchases.
We will send you an SMS with an OTP to the mobile number registered to your account to complete the final step of your online purchase.
During the transaction checkout process and before you enter the OTP to complete your transaction, it is very important that you review the full OTP message as well as the transaction screen details by checking the merchant’s name and the amount about to be charged to your card. Never share this code with another person. By inserting this code, you will have validated and approved the transaction.
What to do if you receive an unexpected OTP?
- Block your card by logging into your Trusted Novus Bank Cards App or TNB Card web portal.

Never share your passwords or OTP with anyone.
