Compliance Officer (x2)

We are seeking two Compliance Officer's to join our Compliance and Legal Team. This role is crucial in supporting our team’s efforts to manage compliance risks, assist with the implementation of regulatory requirements, and contribute to the overall growth of our business.

Expectations for the Role:

As a Compliance Officer, you will:

  • Perform compliance checks including conduct testing of customer onboarding, periodic reviews etc and essentially enhance our second line of defence.
  • Aid in the implementation of key regulatory requirements in relation to strategic organizational changes.
  • Perform horizon scanning to anticipate and prepare the Bank for implementing regulatory developments.
  • Share knowledge and provide training to colleagues in the Bank.
  • Exhibit good judgment and empathetic handling of complaints.
  • Apply Consumer Duty principles effectively.
  • Understand GDPR and help the Bank meet its ongoing requirements.
  • Support the business with its ongoing compliance needs.

Skills Required:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Strong communication skills.
  • A solid understanding of legislation and regulatory frameworks.
  • Organised and able to work with colleagues across the bank.
  • A few years of relevant experience in private practice or financial services, such as a bank or MiFID firm.

 

Areas to Consider:

Given our team's projected workload over the next year, we anticipate a 20% increase in legal requirements that our Bank will need to implement. This increase will involve more analysis of legislative requirements and their practical application. 

Our Compliance and Legal Team is focused on forward planning, reducing compliance risk as a second line of defence, and supporting the business's needs. The work is varied, challenging, and resource constrained. Adequate resourcing is crucial to navigate the evolving legislative environment, reduce compliance risk, and build in-house legal specialism and conducting GDPR responsibilities.
