We stop cheque clearing service on 31st December 2021

Our cheque issue and clearing services are discontinuing at the end of this year. This means that all cheques paid to you or issued by you must be deposited by 31st December 2021. We are unable to honour any cheques after this date.

Alternatives to cheques

Our recommended alternative method of payment is via electronic means. This is a fast, secure and easy method to exchange funds. If you do not currently have access to Netbank or require guidance on how to use it, please feel free to contact us for help. We also encourage clients to use direct debit and standing orders for regular payments.

Your next steps

  •  If you haven’t done so already, please inform anyone that pays you by cheque to arrange direct transfers to your account (you will need to supply them with your account details).
  • If you are currently paying a third party by cheque, you should arrange for payments to be made via Netbank (you will need their bank details).
  • If you have issued cheques recently, ensure to inform the payee to process the cheque before 31st December to avoid risk of non-payment and possible fees.
