They may contain links to our websites however they’ll never contain links that take you to a page asking for any online banking details like your customer number, password or card reader codes.
Are there careless spelling mistakes or poor grammar? This can be a big giveaway of a scam email. A real bank or company would not make mistakes like this:
Their seems to be a money taken out of your account. Please transfer to safe account asap.
Check the message is personalised with information like your name, your postcode or part of your account number. If it isn’t personalised at all then you should be suspicious.

Telephone scams or `vishing` is a scam used by fraudsters where they call you pretending to be someone else such as your bank, the police, or any other official company.
They do this to trick you into giving out your personal details, such as your card, PIN or card reader codes.
This is when a fraudster sends a text message to you pretending to be from your bank. This is also known as 'smishing'.
The text message may advise that there's a problem with your bank account, asking you to call a phone number. If you call, fraudsters will try to trick you into giving away your personal and security information.
The bank will never ask you to provide your PIN, One Time Passcode (OTP) or your online banking login password. Never allow remote access to any device or download software to allow access.
Be on the lookout for emails or text messages requesting you log in to your online banking to update your personal details and emails with of an urgent nature.
We are aware of scam texts pretending to be Trusted Novus Bank saying your card is blocked and asking you to call them.
Please ignore these messages. We will never ask for your full card number, PIN or codes by phone or SMS.
