Types of scams and fraud to watch out for

Five easy tips to stay safe in 2025

  • Check before you trust: always make sure the person contacting you is genuine. If you receive an unexpected message from your bank, call them using the number on the back of your card.
  • Create strong passwords: use unique, strong passwords for each account. A password manager can help you create and safely store them.
  • Think before you click: be cautious with deals that seem too good to be true. Always research any offer and the company behind it before deciding.
  • Keep everything updated: regularly update your devices and apps to stay safe from security threats. Ensure your antivirus software is current.
  • Stay informed about scams: knowledge is your best defence. Check out our fraud guides to learn about common scams.
